Frequently asked questions

The important details about exports, privacy, Apple Health permissions, duplicates and long imports.

Does HealthTransfer continuously sync Samsung Health and Apple Health?

No. HealthTransfer performs a one-time import from a Samsung Health export. New Samsung records are not automatically synchronized afterward.

Do I need my old Samsung phone?

You need a complete supported export, not a live connection to the old phone. You may need access to the Samsung account or Samsung Health app to request and download that export.

Which Samsung exports can I use?

Version 1 accepts the complete four-file Samsung Privacy ZIP set, a complete Samsung Health DownloadPersonalData folder or ZIP, or both sources together. Do not select isolated CSV tables from an incomplete export.

Does HealthTransfer upload my health files?

No. Selected archives and health measurements are processed locally on the iPhone and are not uploaded to a HealthTransfer health-data server. External support or tutorial links behave like ordinary website visits and never receive your archive from the app.

Why does Apple ask for Health permissions?

Apple controls which apps can write each health category. HealthTransfer requests only the write types needed for the parameters you selected. If you deny a category, the app cannot add those records.

Will HealthTransfer create duplicate records?

HealthTransfer filters matching stable identifiers across selected Samsung exports and writes synchronization identifiers for its records. This supports repeat-safe recovery, but equivalent entries created manually or by unrelated apps cannot always be recognized.

Can HealthTransfer import Blood Pressure?

No. Blood Pressure is temporarily unavailable in version 1 because a reliable Apple Health permission path was not established across supported iOS versions. Those source records remain in the export.

How long will an import take?

It depends on the archive size, record count, routes, iPhone model and Apple Health. Small exports may finish in minutes; multi-year exports can take substantially longer. The app shows progress and preserves supported recovery checkpoints.

What should I do if an import pauses?

Unlock the iPhone, reopen HealthTransfer and follow the message shown. iOS can pause Apple Health access or background work. Do not uninstall the app while an import is in progress.

Can I undo an import?

Version 1 does not provide a one-tap rollback. Records already added can be reviewed and managed in Apple Health. Deleting HealthTransfer does not remove records already written there.

Does HealthTransfer require an account?

No. Version 1 has no HealthTransfer account system. App Store purchases and restorations are handled through Apple.

What information should I send to support?

Describe the screen, the exact message and the non-sensitive support reference copied from the app when available. Never send an export archive, archive password, private health values or workout-route screenshot.
